Our journey begins at Katz’s Delicatessen, an 1888 icon of the Jewish immigrant era renowned for its towering pastrami sandwiches and pop culture history. From there, we will take in the stunning Gothic Revival architecture of the former Ansche Chesed Synagogue (Angel Orensanz Center) before satisfying our sweet tooth at Economy Candy, a neighborhood staple since the 1930s. As we walk the neighborhood, we’ll pass by the Tenement Museum, a tribute to the immigrant families who built the city, and the Bowery Ballroom, a world-renowned live music venue. We will end our tour at Eileen’s Special Cheesecake, enjoying a beloved family recipe that has been an NYC favorite for over 50 years.
